I purchased this Streamlight PolyStinger LED Haz-Lo to stay in my truck, or when duty calls, to accompany us on roadtrips - particularly when traveling up to the mountains, and especially in the winter; or to the beach, especially when that includes the more desolate stretches.I knew I wanted something durable, big enough to hold onto, that wouldn't get lost easily, and that offered variable brightness. And above all, I wanted something in the Streamlight lineup. Also, I didn't buy this particular flashlight because I wanted or needed the brightest, furthest, whitest beam possible. Actually, one of the features that attracted me to it, was its ability to go very dim. Its bright mode is plenty bright enough for all practical purposes, while its mid-mode is a very serviceable brightness while offering good battery economy. Its hidden party trick however, is its ability to go very dim and extend its charge over 20 hours. This is what you want if you're stranded somewhere with an uncertain timeline for rescue - a dim mode that is about as bright as clear full-moon night that will allow you to navigate, perform basic tasks, and light up objects right in front of you.For its purpose (my purpose), the Haz-Lo is a fantastic option, especially with the two-pack car + wall charger. If you're looking for piercing brightness, look seriously at the Streamlight ProTac line - these lights serve a different purpose, and for that purpose, there really is nothing better that marries performance & quality from a USA-based company that stands behind their good brand.Very strong and powerful beam. We had one before and always reliable, even when dropped and the strength of the beam is awesome. I would have rated this as five stars but lowered it two. You see, I had ordered the flashlight with other items so they arrived in the same box. The flashlight box arrived opened, missing the manual/instruction sheet and I wasn't sure all items that were supposed to be in the box were there. For example there were two of the same rechargers, the car adapter that seems incompatible, wall plug, lanyard and screws. Checked the box and website about what should be included but got nowhere. This is a great product but they need to have clearer instructions on the web and in the box about how the various recharging mechanisms work and a contents list.Great flashlight in general, obviously super safe and tough which is over the top for just a home flashlight, I just like the durability and visibility (bright yellow) as i lost my stream light strion LED which I loved. The polynstinger hazlo isn't tactical or as bright but it's great for emergencies and just taking the dog out at night. I'm gonna cop another strion though because I miss those lumens.Always preferred streamlight flashlights in the electric and gas industries that require haz lo/ intrinsically safe flashlights. For $75 great deal.Thought I was getting a power plug charger because I still have a car mount charger from my old black poly stinger.Actually got another car charger & mount. It came charged with minor marring from production but that's ok bc it will get dirty/ scratched at work. It is plastic and not rubber coated like my old streamlight. In my line of work I have always used Streamlight products and I have been happy with most of them. This one however, was the first one that has ever failed, ever. It got stuck in moonlight mode which is a nice feature if you are stuck in the forest and need to find your way out, but not if you need it to do your job. The build quality is very good, and it worked great right up to the failure. And again, Amazon came through with their great return policy and ease to deal with, so I figure I got the one in a million chance for having a Streamlight fail, to bad it was not a lottery ticket! Amazon sent a new one and it has been operating perfectly. The battery is not removable, so if you own other Streamlights and are planning to keep charging one battery and changing them out, this won't fit that regime. However the battery lasted nearly ten times as long before needing charged, compared to my other ones that the battery comes out of. (the green battery).I liked how bright it is. It says it’s only 120 lums but it will light up a dark area with out a problem.I really like this flashlight. The beam is really strong and bright, you can point out objects from almost 100 yards. Having it be rechargeable really makes a big difference for me, I dislike buying batteries all the time. The charge lasts a long time. The poly case isn't too heavy and the yellow makes it hard to misplace. I will buy another.
