The only differences between the replacement model and original are that the replacement is housed in plastic instead of metal and the inverter self determines battery type.Although a long diy project (8 hours my first time, non-electrician but handy-woman), the worst part is working with solid wires on the breaker side. They aren't flexible like stranded wire so the space rapidly gets tight to work in. However, it's basically plug and play otherwise.Hints: study the old wiring, take clear pictures and, if feasible, mark your wires. (Required both types -/+ screwdrivers, a square #2 screwdriver and an extender for the #2 on the breakers.) Since my wiring was great but my charger/inverter went out, I was able to remove old wiring from the old case and re-route it into the new box. Presto! I had full power again.
