Joyisi 48V 15AH/18AH Electric Bike Battery with Smart BMS & Charger - Compatible with 350W-1000W Ebike Motors | Perfect for Commuting, Mountain Biking & Long-Distance Rides

This is my second time buying this battery. The old battery I have, that I bought from 2019 is still putting work. The reason why I bought 2 battery's is because I do uber eats. In overall 10/10 battery. And great customer service ?Great battery purchase for my first ebike conversion project. I am VERY satisfied with this purchase as it offers me the battery time for riding and the range time I was aiming for in my design.I use this battery to power a rear wheel drive motor Voilamart 26" Rear Wheel Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit, 48V 1000W ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079T25XCN/ref=cfb_at_prodpg ). Used together I get everything I wanted in my project design.The ordering versus delivery time is substantial. My suggestion is once your purchases are decided, make sure to order the battery with enough lead time to arrive at the same time as your motor. This helps with having all the parts at the same time for install.The rack that comes with this kit is invaluable for my use. It however came with no install/design/instruction manual. I had to 'modify' the mount for the axle on the rear wheel to accommodate the wiring from the motor. It took some layout time to accomplish a fit I was sure would handle my riding conditions.I have used this battery for over 100 miles of ride time with the above motor. I only need to charge every two weeks. ( 1.3 miles distance / flat paved roads / 20-25 mph average , 31 mph capable). The charge port is a hassle if your try to plug it in to the battery while it is still plugged into a power source. This is correctable by unplugging the power source FIRST, connecting the charge port on the battery, then connecting it to the power source. I have also noticed the range increasing since I have setup a charging schedule, As I don't think I have fully arrived at the full potential of the battery yet.The locking mechanism / key is a great bonus to the battery. It is a ON/OFF switch for the battery to prevent draining when not in use. I am not keen on the way the key sticks out from the side of the battery (always afraid I will forget it in the lock and snap it off inadvertently). It operates 4 'modes' depending on the key position and pressed/depressed. Locks/Unlocks from docking plate and power ON/OFF. The docking plate lock is not a 'rigid' fit and will rattle occasionally. This is normal for the design as a tighter fit would not allow for the battery to slide in and out of the docking plate.I have recommended this battery to all the people that have asked about my bike. I feel it's a great product for what I required for this project. It came very well packaged on the outer limits of the arrival date.For 1000+ miles, this battery has supplied me with smiles to last a lifetime. The 1000 watts supply sufficient power to make even the steepest hills feel like flat ground, and descending feels comparable to growing wings and flying amidst the clouds. As a college student who bikes nearly everywhere, this has completely changed my life. I always arrive early, without a drop of sweat on my forehead. My apartment sits on the peek of a huge hill and to arrive with a breeze is always a welcome surprise. At times I've been caught in the rain and at first was very anxious but have realized there is very little to fear, as long as I don't get hit by a tsunami any time soon.I purchased the rear-rack model which provides excellent convenience to securely lock and unlock the battery from the bike. If I stay somewhere for a long period of time, I am able to lock up the frame and the wheel, and take the battery inside to minimize the possibility of theft. As someone who has also had a bike stolen before (despite the use of a u-lock), this is always on my mind. However, the ability to remove the most expensive component on the bike and take it with me wherever I go mitigates my stress. Also, it allows me to charge it continually throughout the day to maximize the bike's range.Speaking of which, I am 120 lbs and achieve an average range of 50 km at 30 km/h with this battery, which is definitely more than enough to get me around town. Sometimes in-between classes, I will go for a 30 minute ride for fun, or grab lunch at a restaurant like Chick Fil A. The most dreaded part of my day, commuting up and down hills on a bicycle, has suddenly become the funnest part of my day.Also, from my experience, Joyisi has excellent customer support as well. After contacting customer service about the loss of both ignition keys due to theft (I promise I don't live in a sketchy area, I am just rather unlucky), I received immediate feedback regarding obtaining a new lock and a new set of keys.I remember when I was on the fence about buying this battery and building an electric bike. I was thinking about lots of different variables, but here's some considerations which finally convinced me: if you live in an urban area, an electric bike can offer you a replacement for a car for roughly $5000 less in annual fees (not even considering initial costs). It can offer you the convenience and versatility of a bicycle while at the same time requiring no sweat or elbow grease to power it. But most importantly, it can turn transportation--potentially one of the most mundane or stressful parts of the day--into the ride of your life.The battery has performed well. I like having the weight in the back. It helps to balance my heavy front hub motor setup. I have a Jaxpety 48v 1000w motor. I use the 750w governor. My top speed on a flat surface is at least 25mph. My total weight of gear, the bike and myself is probably about 275lb and I can make it about 25miles with mild pedal assist. I do ride pretty fast or else my range would probably be greater.The locking mechanism is really nice and makes the unit less desirable to steal.My two complaints are:1. The directions to install the rack are basically worthless. This was the first rack of its kind that I have installed so I found it rather difficult.2. I've had a fuse blow on me. I would think that is more likely the fault of my controller rather than the battery. The battery did come with an extra fuse. It took a while to figure out that was the problem when I lost power to my bike, but replacing the fuse was easy.I bought this battery for my son's ebike conversion. Seems to work ok. Be sure the key switch is turned to on, because you can read 48 volts on the output with the key off, but it won't power up the controller.
